Performance Strategies or mental skills are a variety of mind-based tools derived from the applied sports and performance psychology fields. The purpose of them is to help performers enhance their experience on stage.
Some techniques provide new ways of thinking, others include practice suggestions or ways to attend to physiological or emotional aspects of performing. Every performer experiences being on stage differently. The strategies I am discussing here on my site hopefully includes something for everyone.
Performance psychology strategies can be quite simple and may appear obvious at times. At other times, they can seem difficult to understand or to access. I suggest trying out some of the ideas listed here or mentioned in my podcast. Most likely, not everything will work for you. Just know, that sometimes the most amazing change happens by merely adjusting the way you think about something. At other times the mind-based tools are hands-on and require practice and familiarity before they can be used.
